1. What is motivation
Motivation is a desire in a person that causes that person to act (Alex, 2004). Motivation is something that is very important in every company because motivation can also affect the company's productivity process. Sometimes employee motivation at work can decrease because employees cannot do orders on time while the company provides deadlines for completing orders, employees are required to work longer to fulfill orders from the factory, the factory's physical environmental conditions are less supportive (Gardjito, 2014).
2. The influence of motivation on the productivity process
According to Alex (2004), the work environment is
everything that is around the worker can affect him in carrying out the
tasks he carries out. The work environment in productivity also has a great
influence on employees and if the work environment feels comfortable then
employees can improve their performance (Alex, 2004).
3. The form of motivation in the workplace
a. Intrinsic motivation is usually a driver of employee performance that comes from within each individual, in the form of awareness of the importance or benefits of the work he does because he feels he has the opportunity to actualize or realize himself to the fullest.
b. Extrinsic motivation is usually in the form of driving employee performance that comes from outside each individual in the form of a condition that requires him to carry out work to the fullest such as high wages/salaries, respectable positions/positions or having great power, praise, punishment received by each (Nawawi, 2003).
