Working conditions and the working environment

Employees' psychological and physical social lives in the workplace have an impact on their ability to perform their jobs. The work environment is one of the external elements that have a significant impact on achieving the best possible performance in any profession. Because of a lack of work motivation that develops from inside the workforce to work properly, if the work environment is not conducive, the workforce's performance will suffer. The main purpose of work environment regulation is to boost company productivity (Komarudin, 2001).

Physical, chemical, ergonomic, and psychological elements in the workplace can all have an impact on employee safety and health.  Physical factors that can include work climate, which is the result of a combination of temperature, humidity, air movement speed, and radiant heat, as well as hot and cold pressure, noise, vibration, radio waves/microwaves, ultraviolet rays, static magnetic fields, air pressure, and illumination as a result of work. While chemical factors, such as chemical contamination in the air in the form of gases, vapors, and particles, can be created by the use of chemicals and their derivatives in the workplace. 

Accidents or industrial disasters can occur as a result of human error, negligence, or incompetence. They cause extensive property damage, as well as injury and death.

Building a culture that prioritizes occupational health and safety foster productive working environments for employees, suppliers, contractors, and other relevant personnel, allowing them to work constantly while preserving hygiene.

A positive work atmosphere has the effect of instilling a passion for one's job, resulting in increased productivity. Meanwhile, the advantages of working alongside people who are good at their occupations can be realized.

In the HRM aspect, the working conditions & the work environment is important for employee's psychological and physical social lives in the workplace have an impact on their ability to perform their jobs. A positive work atmosphere has the effect of instilling a passion for one's job, resulting in increased productivity.

  1. Good job Pradeep. Employees spend a major part of their daily life, at least eight to ten hours at their workplace. So, it is essential for them to get a safe and friendly working environment in the work place. It not only helps the employees to be more committed to his job, but also contributes to the company’s overall productivity. So, the company and its human resources (HR) department needs to concentrate more on providing the safe & good working conditions at the workplace, as it will ultimately reflect in the company’s balance sheet in a positive manner.
